Does every business need SEO?
The answer in most cases is – yes!
Let me quickly explain our theory of Push/Pull marketing.
If your business offers services, products or solutions that people are searching for, then you need to “PULL” that prospect into your sales funnel. SEO should be a high priority in your marketing strategy so that your website is found during their search.
However, there are cases where SEO, or “Pull Marketing”, may not be best for your business.
If your business offers a product or service that people don’t know exists, let alone are actively searching for, then you need “PUSH” your advertisement in front of that prospect. For example, when the robotic vacuum cleaner was invented, I people were not searching for that product that they did not know existed. Manufacturers needed to “PUSH” advertisements in front of their prospective buyers until awareness of the product became common knowledge. Then, more companies began making robotic vacuum cleaners, competition rose, and the marketing strategy then needed to be changed. In these cases, you need to show the consumer that you have a solution to a need they didn’t know they had. This is where more traditional advertising such as TV, radio, billboards, etc would be more useful.
